HEAD OF MUSIC
JEFFREY CHUNG
Hi, I am a 2nd-year psychology student at King’s College London. Music has accompanied me throughout my entire life. I have started singing and playing instruments from the young age of 5. I have substantial experience with traditional choral/ orchestral music. For example, I have worked as a choral scholar and have competed in the World Choir Games where my choir won the best male category.
Moving onto more modern music, I am heavily involved with musical theatre. Currently, I have been cast as Old Deuteronomy in a production of Cats and Lurch in the Addams Family. I am also a member of Kadencevox Acapella where I sing bass and beatbox. Here, I help with arranging pop songs and audio mixing for the 9 voices in the group. On a more personal perspective, I have been experimenting with song-writing and song-producing. Although I would not consider myself as a professional, I do have some experience working in Logic and composing.
I believe that music is a great way to maintain a stable and healthy mental health, especially during these hard times of the pandemic. We can use music to express feelings that are hard to convey with words. In our programme, we can provide you with a safe platform where you can express your opinions and a chance to create some music with our members. If you’re interested in discussing or if you’re just starting out and want some insights about music performance, interpretation and composing, my section would be perfect for you!
