Hi everyone, I am Trista, a second-year student at UCL. Being a student in Education Studies in IOE, I am really interested in how different creative and art forms, including photography and filming, broadcasting, multimedia, museum arts, and dancing, could help inspire and enable children to get to know about their “true” selves. The word I like the most in every educational or psychological setting is “EXPLORE”. It encourages the interactions happening between the inner self and the environment, emphasizing the autonomy of ourselves making decisions, and our central roles within every magical moment we are experiencing. It is the ever-developing social world that drives us crazy and makes our mind messing up. Why don’t we drop it, and listen more to our body and mind?

In my creative group sessions, we will be taking “risks” by body movements! Risks that help us to TRY without being mindful of others’ judgments, and immerse in our own world. By freeing our true selves from the socially confined bodies, we can better embrace ourselves. Also, we will have our genuine feelings being expressed, not only as a result of physical reactions after taking the social burdens away, but also as a creation by your inner self. By those spontaneous expressions, we will see how creative we can be, and how feelings could also be an art form. There will be no “normal” or “abnormal” in any form being defined in our space, everyone is no different creators.
